I Want to Edit a Survey That Has Already Started Collecting

This article explains the editing features that are restricted when modifying a survey that has collection history in Dataspace.

If you switch a collection group that is collecting responses to 'Collection Paused' status in the 'Collect' tab, you can modify the survey content in the 'Edit' tab. You can also change the target response count and stop time for that collection group.

However, to maintain data accuracy and consistency, certain items cannot be modified for surveys that have already begun collection.

  • Start/end page settings (brand logo, button name, image, etc.),

  • Question content,

  • 'Choice image' settings,

  • 'Choice order' changes for rating questions,

  • 'Required response' settings,

  • 'Minimum display time' settings,

  • 'Question display logic' and 'Jump logic',

  • Adding 'None' or 'Other' choices, Changing question formatting

  • Adding/deleting/reordering blocks,

  • Adding/deleting/reordering questions,

  • Changing question type,

  • Changing response options,

  • Deleting/reordering choices,

  • Adding/deleting Embedded Data

Collection Group

  • Collection stop conditions (target response count, credit reservation for screening blocks, collection stop time),

  • Collection group title

  • 'Allow duplicate responses' setting,

  • 'Anonymous collection' setting,

  • Including/excluding previous respondents setting,

  • Ad display setting,

  • Email/SMS/AlimTalk content

For surveys with collection history, non-editable items in the 'Edit' screen can only be changed by creating a new survey. Non-editable items in the 'Collection Group' can only be changed by creating a new collection group.

📌 Additional Notes

  • For surveys with collection history, while deleting questions and choices is not possible, you can use the Hide/Show feature.

  • While directly reordering choices is not available, you can use the Randomize Choice Order setting to display them in random order.

  • If a collection group is in 'Collection Paused' status, you can restart collection; however, if it is in 'Closed' status, re-collection is not possible.

  • Surveys with consumer panel usage history cannot be edited.
