🧙 How are Star rating questions and Rating scale questions different?
| Meaning | Features |
Rating scale | A question used when you want to compare and analyze respondents' perceptions or attitudes with a scale that has clear meaning. (e.g.) "How satisfied are you with Service A?" → Not at all satisfied / Neutral / Very satisfied | Good for comparing and analyzing response results numerically. Suitable for cases requiring accurate judgment, such as satisfaction or importance. |
Star rating | A question used when you want to quickly ask about intuitive impressions or overall satisfaction. Since scores are selected with star shapes (★), respondents can easily answer without overthinking. (e.g.) "Please rate your experience with this service using stars." | Intuitive and low burden for respondents. Suitable for encouraging quick responses. |
