📌 The "Allow duplicate responses" setting is available when collecting responses via anonymous link, personal links, QR code, email, SMS, or AlimTalk.
What is "Allow duplicate responses"?
"Allow duplicate responses" is a feature that allows one person to participate in the same survey multiple times.
When this option is turned on, the same respondent can submit responses multiple times via the survey link. When turned off, only one response per person is allowed.
This feature is useful for surveys where it is more appropriate not to limit the number of responses, depending on the survey's purpose.
When you want to freely collect multiple opinions at an event venue
When one person needs to submit multiple cases individually (e.g., submitting complaints, suggesting ideas)
When you want to allow respondents to leave opinions repeatedly over a specific period
Why use "Allow duplicate responses"?
1️⃣ Analyze changes over time
By allowing the same respondents to participate repeatedly over a period of time, you can analyze trends in attitude, satisfaction, and perception changes. For example, this is effective for surveys that require before-and-after comparisons, such as pre/post training assessments or measuring awareness changes before/after campaign exposure.
2️⃣ Collect multiple experiences as individual data points
If a single respondent has used multiple products or accessed a service multiple times, each experience may lead to a different evaluation. In surveys that continuously gather opinions — such as idea submissions or complaint intake — not limiting the number of responses helps obtain richer and more realistic data.
How to set up "Allow duplicate responses"
step 1. Create a new collection group via "Send the survey from the space" (email, SMS, or AlimTalk sending) or "Collect responses through link" (anonymous link, personal links, or QR code generation).
step 2. In Advanced Settings, enable the "Allow duplicate responses" toggle.
Criteria for detecting duplicate responses
The criteria used to determine whether a response is a duplicate vary depending on how the survey is sent.
1️⃣ Send the survey from the space (email, SMS, or AlimTalk sending)
When "Allow duplicate responses" is disabled, only one response can be submitted per sent link.
When surveys are sent via email, SMS, or AlimTalk, the system determines whether a respondent has already responded based on the response submission history for the individual link delivered to each respondent.
2️⃣ Collect responses through link (anonymous link, personal links, or QR code generation)
When "Allow duplicate responses" is disabled, by default only one response can be submitted from the same device and browser.
✅ When collecting via anonymous link or QR code
The system determines whether a respondent has already responded based on browser cookie information. However, even with duplicate responses restricted, if cookie information changes in the following ways, the system may have difficulty accurately identifying the same respondent, and a new response may be allowed:
Accessing the survey again from the same device after 3 days have passed since the initial response
Accessing from a different browser or device
Deleting browser cookies
✅ When collecting via an anonymous link with URL parameters (such as UID)
The system determines whether the respondent is the same person based on the UID value included in the link.
