📌 The Create an Anonymous Link feature is available on all plans.
What is Create an Anonymous Link?
Create an Anonymous Link generates a single survey response link that multiple respondents can use to participate in the same survey. Simply share the link — no additional configuration required, and anyone can respond with ease.
When to Use Create an Anonymous Link
This method is especially useful when you want to quickly distribute a simple survey to respondents whose contact information you already have and collect their responses.
When you want to share a survey link via a single channel such as an internal messenger, email, or community post
When you want to broadly collect opinions from an unspecified audience rather than specific individuals
When you want to easily guide event participants or walk-in customers to the same survey
How to Collect Responses with an Anonymous Link
1️⃣ Create a collection group with an anonymous link.
Step 1. Click [+ New collection group] in the upper right of the Collect screen and select [Create an anonymous link], or click the [Create an anonymous link] button on the right side of the screen.
Step 2. A collection group named 'Collection group with anonymous link' will be created. You can rename it as needed.
Step 3. The link shown under 'Anonymous link' is the survey response link. Before collection starts, it will be in 'Deactivated' status. Once collection begins, the link becomes active and you can click the copy icon to copy it.
Q. What happens if someone accesses a deactivated link?
A. When the link is deactivated, a message reading "This survey is not currently collecting responses" will be displayed and respondents will not be able to participate.
2️⃣ Configure duplicate response settings in Advanced settings.
Step 1. In 'Advanced settings,' configure the 'Allows duplicate responses' option. By default, duplicate responses are disabled. When enabled, the same respondent can submit multiple responses.
💡 Tip | When duplicate responses are disabled, each device and browser can only submit one response. This is determined based on browser cookies.Even with duplicate response restrictions enabled, duplicate responses may still occur in the following situations:
When a respondent accesses the survey again from the same device after 3 days
When a different browser or device is used, or browser cookies are cleared
3️⃣ Select a sampling method.
'Select sampling method' determines how respondents are selected from the panel that meets your targeting conditions.
✅ No quota settings
'No quota settings' randomly selects respondents from those who meet the targeting conditions.
This option is available regardless of whether screening questions are included, the collection method, or whether the panel is domestic or international.
💡 Tip | This is ideal for exploratory research where you need to gather data quickly or get a broad directional read.
✅ Quota settings (Stratified random sampling: Screening questions)
When the survey includes screening questions, this method allows you to manually set the respondent composition ratio (quota) based on those questions.
💡 Tip | This is useful when you want to precisely control respondent composition for analytical purposes, or when you need to manage the number of responses per group.
Step 1. Select [Quota settings], then click [Add quota component].
Step 2. Select the screening questions and answer choices to use for quota configuration, and create quota groups with your desired conditions.
Step 3. Once quota groups are created, enter the target response count for each cell.
4️⃣ Set the collection stop conditions.
Step 1. Enter the date and time you want to stop collection in 'Pause collection at.'
Step 2. Enter the number of responses you want to collect in 'Target responses.' 1 collect credit is used per response collected. Sending credits are not used when collecting responses via an anonymous link.
Step 3. If the survey includes screening questions, you must also enter the number of credits in 'Reserve credits for collection.'
✅ Please note the following when setting Target responses!
Even after collection is stopped, respondents who have already accessed the survey can continue to complete it.
If a large number of respondents enter at the same time, more responses than the reserved credits may be collected. Please manage responses carefully.
Q. Why do surveys with screening questions require both 'Target responses' and 'Reserve credits for collection'?
A. In surveys with screening questions, 1 credit is used per response regardless of whether the respondent passed the screening conditions or completed the survey.
As a result, more credits may be consumed than the actual 'Target responses' count (the number of respondents who passed the screening and completed the survey). To prevent this, you must also set a maximum credit limit using 'Reserve credits for collection.'
Q. How should I enter 'Target responses' and 'Reserve credits for collection'?
A. The stricter the screening conditions, the more respondents may be excluded midway. We recommend setting the reserve credits generously above the target responses.
However, if collection completes before all reserved credits are used, the remaining reserved credits will automatically be returned to your available credits.
5️⃣ Review your survey and start collection.
Step 1. After collection starts, editing the survey will be restricted. Please review the survey settings once more on the 'Edit' screen before starting.
Step 2. Once you have completed the review, confirm the collect credits that will be set to 'Reserved,' then click [Start].
FAQ
Q. What is the difference between 'Create an anonymous link' and 'Create personal links'?
A. 'Create an anonymous link' collects responses from multiple respondents through a single link. 'Create personal links' generates one unique response link per respondent for the same survey, allowing only one person to respond per link.
'Create an anonymous link' is best when you want to quickly distribute a simple survey to respondents. 'Create personal links' is best when you want to identify and track individual respondents, or when you want to allow only one response per link.
