Anonymize Responses Setting

This article explains the meaning and configuration method of the "Anonymize responses" option available when sending surveys via email, SMS, or AlimTalk.

Updated today

📌 The "Anonymize responses" setting is only available when collecting responses via email, SMS, or AlimTalk.

What is "Anonymize responses"?

"Anonymize responses" is a feature that prevents identification of who responded when collecting survey responses. When this option is used, information that could identify respondents — such as name, email, and panel information — is not stored.

For example, when conducting an organizational culture or job satisfaction survey targeting employees and you want respondents to feel comfortable leaving candid opinions without pressure, you can use the anonymize responses feature. Respondents can participate more comfortably knowing their identity will not be revealed.

Why use "Anonymize responses"?

1️⃣ Receive more candid opinions

When respondents know they cannot be identified, they are more likely to answer honestly, even on sensitive topics.

2️⃣ Reduce the burden on respondents

In sensitive surveys — such as evaluations, satisfaction surveys, or internal issue surveys — the concern that one's identity might be revealed can discourage participation. Anonymizing responses lowers this psychological burden and can improve participation rates.

How to set up "Anonymize responses"

step 1. Create a new collection group via email, SMS, or AlimTalk sending.

step 2. Enable the toggle to the right of "Anonymize responses."

💡 Usage tip | When the anonymize responses option is enabled, response links are not generated individually. As a result, it is not possible to check who responded, and respondent-identifying information is not provided in the survey result data. Due to this, the following features cannot be used:

  • Checking response status per respondent

  • Resending only to non-respondents

FAQ

Q. If I turn off the anonymize responses option, can I identify who responded?

A. When respondents are selected through [Add from My Panel], a personalized response link is generated for each respondent. This means you can identify who responded even without directly asking for names or information in the survey questions.

By sending surveys to My Panel, you can:

  • Check the send history per panelist

  • See who has responded and who has not

  • Resend only to non-respondents
