Panel personal information refers to the personal information of survey respondents collected through Opensurvey — including information that can identify individuals such as names and addresses.
When Opensurvey provides panel personal information to clients, the following protection policies are established and enforced. Clients who handle panel personal information must implement the following measures in accordance with Opensurvey's policies.
Requirements When Receiving Panel Personal Information
1. Signing the 'Opensurvey Panel Information Security Pledge'
Before the survey begins, the 'Opensurvey Panel Information Security Pledge' — which states that panel personal information will be used only for the agreed-upon purpose — must be signed. The pledge will be sent to the person in charge's email address for electronic signature.
2. Managing Panel Personal Information Files with Encryption
When Opensurvey provides panel personal information to a third party, it encrypts the file and delivers it only to the designated research manager. Clients must also manage the received panel personal information in encrypted file format.
3. Deleting Panel Personal Information After the Survey Ends
Once the purpose for using panel personal information has been fulfilled and the retention period expires, the panel personal information must be destroyed from all storage locations, including email.
📌 Additional Notes
When panel personal information is collected through a survey and provided to a third party, panelists are asked for their consent in advance. The survey is conducted only with respondents who have agreed.
If the 'Opensurvey Panel Information Security Pledge' was not signed before the survey, it must be replaced with the 'Opensurvey Panel Information Destruction Pledge', which states that personal information will be immediately destroyed upon achieving its purpose or upon expiry of the retention period.
