📌 Custom Embedded Data is available on the Professional plan and above.
👋 Wait — haven't registered and added Embedded Data to your survey yet?
Please check the article below first before proceeding.
Try it in situations like these
Company A evaluates the same product every week for 6 weeks, with part of the questions changing each week,
and Company B's operating items change every season, so questions have to be manually shown or hidden each time.
If they used Embedded Data instead,
| Before | Now |
Building the survey | Create a separate survey for each send date/audience, or manually show and hide questions | Set up logic once, in a single survey, using custom Embedded Data |
Analyzing results | If the survey was split into multiple, responses are split by survey | Since there's just one survey, responses from multiple collection groups can be analyzed together in a single dataset |
🛠️ Understand How It Works at a Glance
1. Create the "week" identifier
Embedded Data name: WEEK
Embedded Data sub-identifier values: Week 1, Week 2
2. Set up question display by week
Week 1 question: shown only to people whose WEEK is Week 1
Week 2 question: shown only to people whose WEEK is Week 2
3. Link collection groups and send the survey
Week 1 participants → send with the WEEK value set to Week 1
Week 2 participants → send with the WEEK value set to Week 2
4. The result for each respondent
Week 1 participants are automatically shown only the Week 1 questions,
and Week 2 participants only the Week 2 questions
📌 If you want to show the survey in a different language per collection group (changing the language itself, not the questions), see the Create a Survey in Multiple Languages and Check the Response Results article.
1️⃣ Set it as a condition in question display/skip logic
step 1. Go to the display logic (or skip logic) setting of the question you want to show differently.
step 2. Select the "custom Embedded Data" you added earlier as the condition's variable, and specify the identifier value that shows the question.
2️⃣ Match a different identifier value to each collection group
step 1. Go to the "Collect" tab.
step 2. In the "Custom Embedded data" item under the "Embedded data assignment" section, click [+ Select] or [Change] to select the identifier value to match to this collection group.
📌 This item only appears once at least one custom Embedded Data has been added to the survey.
