When running a survey, the collected responses are categorized into various types such as completed responses, overquota, and screen-out. These response statuses are classified according to the screening conditions set in the survey or the target response count (quota), and understanding the meaning of each status lets you see what state responses are currently being collected in.
Response Statuses
✅ Completed response (valid)
Refers to a response where the respondent met the conditions for selecting eligible respondents (screening conditions) and completed the survey all the way through.
Alternatively, if a survey has no screening conditions, all responses that were completed all the way through are classified as completed responses (valid).
✅ Completed response (hidden)
Refers to a response that was completed all the way through but was cleaned in the Response tab of the Analytics screen. This response is not included in analysis, but can be reclassified as a completed response (valid) by 'validating' it again in the Response tab.
✅ Overquota response
A response that occurs when a survey contains screening questions and the respondent met the screening conditions, but the configured target response count was exceeded. In this case, the respondent cannot proceed to the end of the survey and is redirected to the exit page partway through.
✅ Screen-out response
A response that occurs when a survey contains screening questions and a respondent does not meet the screening conditions. In this case, the respondent does not proceed further and is redirected to the exit page.
