Subdomain Setting

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the subdomain concept, its purpose, configuration process, and approval criteria.

📌 The subdomain setting is only available on the Enterprise plan.

What is a "Subdomain"?

A subdomain is a feature that lets you customize the address displayed in your survey response link to match your brand. Instead of the default address, you can insert your preferred name to create a more familiar and trustworthy survey link.

Once the setting is complete, response links will be provided in the following format:

Why use a "Subdomain"?

1️⃣ Strengthen brand credibility

By using a subdomain, your company or service brand name can be directly reflected in the survey response link. This allows respondents to intuitively recognize that the survey comes from an official channel. It also helps improve trust in the survey's source and maintain brand consistency.

2️⃣ Improve survey participation rate and accessibility

Links that clearly identify the sender reduce the likelihood of being mistaken for spam or phishing, helping respondents access the survey without psychological hesitation. This can positively impact link click rates and survey participation rates, enabling a more stable data collection environment.

How to set up a subdomain

step 1. From the left menu on the Dataspace home screen, go to [Settings > Survey features > Subdomain], then click the [Subdomain settings] button.

step 2. Enter the domain name you want to use and select [Request approval]. Once the request is submitted, an internal review will be conducted, and you will be notified of the approval decision within 2 business days.

Note that the subdomain cannot be changed for 30 days after the initial setup, so please decide on the name carefully.

💡 Usage tip | Existing response links that were in use before the subdomain was configured will remain valid for 1 year after the setup. Therefore, even if you are already collecting survey responses, link access and response collection will not be affected, so you can configure the subdomain with confidence.

step 3. Once approval is complete, all survey response links will automatically be updated to use the entered subdomain. If the request is rejected, a notification email with the reason for rejection will be sent to you.

✅ Subdomain approval criteria

  • Subdomains may only contain lowercase English letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), and hyphens (-).

  • Only proper nouns are approved, such as trademarks or email domains that you currently own.

  • Words that could cause confusion about the survey provider are not permitted. Examples: www, admin, home, root, api, etc.

  • Words already in use internally by the Dataspace system cannot be set. Examples: team, admin, front, etc.

  • Furthermore, even an already-approved subdomain may have its approval revoked if brand impersonation or similar issues are identified.
