What is an AlimTalk Template?

In Dataspace, you can connect a Kakao Business channel to send surveys to customers via AlimTalk. To send an AlimTalk message, you must register the message format (template) to be used in advance. Only templates that have passed Kakao's review process can be used for sending.

Using an approved template allows you to send surveys safely via AlimTalk and collect responses smoothly.

How to Register an AlimTalk Template

step 1. In the lower left of the Dataspace screen, click [Settings > KakaoTalk channel], then click [Connect KakaoTalk channel].

💡 Usage tip | If you have not yet connected your KakaoTalk channel to Dataspace, please refer to the [Kakao Business Channel Integration Guide] and complete the connection first.

step 2. In the AlimTalk template area, click [+ Create template], then enter the template name, message content, and button name in order.

  • Template name: An internal name used to easily distinguish between multiple templates. This is not visible to respondents.

  • Template content: The area where you write the actual AlimTalk message that respondents will receive. You can set it to automatically insert the respondent's name, and can enter up to 1,000 characters. The content you write can be previewed on the right side in real time.

  • Button name: Sets the text for the button that links to the survey response link. The default is [Send survey], but you can change it to any text that encourages participation.

step 3. Once all fields are filled in, click the [Request review] button in the lower right. AlimTalk templates must pass Kakao's review before they can be used, and the result will be communicated via email within 2 business days.

🧙 Tips for writing your template

1️⃣ Put the key message in the first line.

The first line of the template content is the first thing displayed in the preview screen of the AlimTalk recipient.

Writing a prominent phrase or a one-line summary of the survey's purpose in the first line makes it easier to capture the respondent's attention.

2️⃣ Write the survey button name so it's immediately understandable.

Writing the button text for the survey response link in an intuitive way helps participants immediately understand what they need to do, which improves survey accessibility and participation rates.

3️⃣ Be sure to mention any participation rewards.

If there is a reward for participating in the survey, please include it in the template.

Reward information is an important factor in helping respondents decide to participate, and is effective at increasing their willingness to respond.

💡 The AlimTalk template list screen also includes these features.

On the AlimTalk template list screen, you can view the status and basic information of each template at a glance, and easily copy or delete templates.

1️⃣ Template review status

Review results are communicated via email within 2 business days and can also be checked directly in the "Review status" column on the list screen.

  • Under review: The review is currently in progress. Template content cannot be edited during this time.

  • Registered: The review has been completed and the template is ready to use. It can be used immediately for AlimTalk survey sending.

  • Rejected: The template was not approved in the review. Check the rejection reason at the top, edit the content accordingly, and submit a new review request.

2️⃣ Template name

The name entered in [+ Create template] is displayed as-is. This name is not visible to respondents and is used only for distinguishing and managing templates within Dataspace.

3️⃣ Registration date and modification date

  • Registration date: The time when the template was first submitted for review.

  • Modification date: The time when a revised version was resubmitted for review.

4️⃣ Copy and delete templates

  • Copy: Copy an existing template, edit the name, content, button, etc., and submit it for a new review.

  • Delete: Delete templates that are no longer in use. However, please note that if you delete a template currently in use by a collection group that is actively collecting, AlimTalk resending will no longer be possible.
