Setting the Redirect After Survey Completion

Learn how to set the screen respondents see after completing a survey. Configure outro pages, set up automatic redirect to a custom URL, and branch respondents by screening condition — design the completion experience that fits your response flow.

Updated today

Once a survey response is complete, you can choose what screen the respondent sees. You can use an outro page provided by Dataspace, or redirect respondents to a URL of your choosing.

The completion screen can serve multiple purposes beyond just signaling that the survey is over — such as sending a thank-you message to respondents or providing additional instructions.

Outro Page

The outro page is the last screen respondents see after completing the survey. You can enter custom text or images, and use custom settings to freely configure the outro page layout.

Step 1. Enter any important information or messages that respondents who completed the survey should see.

Step 2. Up to 3 outro pages can be configured. Add additional outro pages using any of the following methods:

  • Click the [+] button in the 'Outro Page' section of the left survey structure list.

  • Hover over an outro page in the left list to reveal and click the [+] button.

  • Click the [+ Add Outro Page] button at the bottom of the outro page.

Outro Page Customization

📌 Outro page customization is available on Professional or Enterprise plans.

Add your brand logo, images, navigation buttons, and control whether the Dataspace banner is shown to create a branded outro page.

✅ Upload brand logo

  • Insert your brand logo at the top center of the survey.

  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG (under 10MB)

  • Recommended size: 150 × 40

✅ Upload image

  • Insert an image in the center of the survey.

  • Supported formats: JPG, PNG (under 10MB)

  • Recommended size: 600 × 338

✅ Navigation button

  • Add a button to the outro page that links to a specific URL when clicked.

  • Set the button label and the destination URL.

Redirect to Custom URL

📌 The 'Redirect to Custom URL' feature is available on Professional or Enterprise plans.

Using 'Redirect to Custom URL,' you can automatically send respondents to a pre-set URL after completing the survey — no extra clicks or actions required.

Since respondents go directly to the designated page without going through the outro page, this reduces drop-off and allows a seamless transition to the next step.

Step 1. Select the outro page that should redirect to a specific URL, then click [Redirect to Custom URL] at the top of the outro page.

Step 2. Enter the URL that completed respondents should be directed to in the 'Custom URL' field on the right.

🧙 Understanding 'Redirect to Custom URL' through an example

You can route respondents to different outro pages based on screening conditions and set a matching URL for each group to create a more refined customer experience.

  • Respondents who pass screening: For your own customer survey, automatically redirect to a points reward page; for panel self-surveys, link to a thank-you message page.

  • Screen-out respondents: Redirect to your brand homepage.

  • Over-quota respondents: Display a simple thank-you message page.

Parameters to append to the URL

You can automatically append parameters to the custom URL set on an outro page. The values available are items registered in the 'Add Embedded Data' menu.

Different parameters can be set for each outro page, and multiple parameters can be added to a single outro page.

Appending parameters to the URL lets you pass respondent information to the external page. Use this to automate follow-up tasks such as respondent identification, reward delivery, CRM integration, and marketing performance measurement.
