What Are Credits?

Credits are a prepaid unit of payment used when accessing key Dataspace features such as survey distribution, response collection, data import, and text analysis.

Credits are divided by use into four types: Collection Credits, Send Credits, Import Credits, and Text Credits. They are also categorized as either plan-default credits or additionally purchased credits.

✨ Credits at a Glance

Type

Description

Collection Credits

Used to collect responses. Applied when collecting responses via link/QR code, or via email/SMS/messaging app. 1 credit per completed response.

Send Credits

Used to send surveys via email, SMS, or messaging app. 1 credit per recipient.

Import Credits

Used when importing external data into Dataspace via the Data Import feature. 1 credit per response deducted upon import completion.

Text Credits

Used when analyzing open-ended responses with the Text AI feature. 1 credit per response per question analyzed.

Collection Credits

1️⃣ What are Collection Credits?

Collection Credits are used to collect survey responses.

After creating a survey in Dataspace and setting your audience and delivery method, you'll enter a target number of completed responses. The Collection Credits used are based on this target number.

2️⃣ When are Collection Credits used?

When collecting responses via link/QR code or via email/SMS/messaging app, 1 credit per completed response is deducted at the moment collection begins.

💡 Usage tip | If you set a target of 100 completed responses and start collection, 100 Collection Credits are automatically deducted at that moment.

If you reach exactly 100 responses, no additional credits are charged or refunded. If only 80 responses are collected for any reason, the remaining 20 credits are automatically refunded.

Send Credits

1️⃣ What are Send Credits?

Send Credits are used when distributing surveys via email, SMS, or messaging app to your own respondent list. Credits are only required when sending to respondents you already have — not for all distribution methods.

Send Credits are categorized by channel: Email Send Credits, SMS Send Credits, and Messaging App Send Credits.

2️⃣ When are Send Credits used?

1 Send Credit is deducted per recipient when distributing a survey via email, SMS, or messaging app.

If you re-send to non-respondents, additional Send Credits are deducted for each person in the re-send batch.

💡 Usage tip | For example, if you select 100 recipients and choose email as the distribution channel, 100 Send Credits are used on the first send. If you re-send to the 50 who haven't responded, an additional 50 Send Credits are deducted.

Import Credits

1️⃣ What are Import Credits?

Import Credits are used when importing externally collected data into Dataspace via the Data Import feature — rather than collecting responses directly through a Dataspace survey. Imported data can be analyzed immediately in the Analytics tab.

2️⃣ When are Import Credits used?

Credits are deducted at the moment an import is completed, at the rate of 1 credit per response in the imported dataset.

For example, importing 100 responses collected via Google Forms will use 100 Import Credits.

Text Credits

1️⃣ What are Text Credits?

Text Credits are used when analyzing open-ended responses using the Text AI feature. Dataspace uses AI to analyze text-based responses, classifying them by topic and sentiment and identifying overall trends and patterns quickly.

Text Credits are consumed when using the Topic Analysis, Sentiment Analysis, and Translation features in the Text AI tab.

2️⃣ When are Text Credits used?

Topic Analysis, Sentiment Analysis, and Translation are applied at the question level. 1 credit is used per response for the question being analyzed.

💡 Usage tip | Say you have a survey with 100 total responses, and Question A has 50 text responses. In the Text AI tab:

  • Running Topic Analysis on Question A uses 50 Text Credits

  • Running Sentiment Analysis uses another 50 Text Credits

Running both analyses uses 100 Text Credits in total.

🔍 Please Note

  • Send Credits are not included in the default credits and must be purchased separately if needed.

  • Each credit type is designated for a specific use and cannot be converted to a different type.

2️⃣ Credit Expiration

✅ Free Plan

  • Default credits on the Free plan (300 collection credits and 300 import credits) never expire.

  • Since the Free plan does not allow additional credit purchases, no expiration policy applies to additional credits.

✅ Professional & Enterprise Plans

  • Default credits can only be used within the subscription period.

  • Additionally purchased credits must be used within one year of the purchase date.

💡 Usage tip | Be sure to use any unused default credits before your subscription period ends. Unused default credits do not carry over to the next subscription period, and will also expire without carryover if you change your plan.
