📌 Sampling method selection is provided in Panel Self-Survey using Opensurvey panels and is available on the Professional or Enterprise plan.
What Is 'Select Sampling Method'?
'Select Sampling Method' is a feature for determining how to collect responses from panels that meet the set targeting conditions.
The sampling methods available vary depending on whether the survey target is a Korean panel or Non-Korean panel, or whether the survey includes screening questions.
Sampling Methods Available for Korean Panel Self-Survey
✅ No quota setup
✅ Census-based quota setup
✅ Representative sample
✅ Custom quota setup
Sampling Methods Available for Non-Korean Panel Self-Survey
✅ No quota setup
✅ Census-based quota setup
✅ Custom quota setup
1️⃣ No Quota Setup
'No Quota Setup' randomly selects respondents from panels meeting the targeting conditions to collect responses.
This method can be selected regardless of whether screening questions are included, the collection method, targeting method, or whether it's a Korean or Non-Korean panel survey.
💡 Tip | Suitable for collecting data quickly or conducting basic research to explore trends.
2️⃣ Census-Based Quota Setup
Census-Based Quota Setup segments panels based on the set targeting conditions and collects responses reflecting the gender/age distribution of the targeted country.
This method can only be selected when the survey does not include screening questions and residential area targeting is set to 'All'.
💡 Tip | Suitable for identifying general-level indicators such as brand awareness or service usage experience rates.
3️⃣ Representative Sample
Representative Sample is a sample composed to represent the population by reflecting the gender/age composition ratio for respondents who meet screening conditions (e.g., purchasers of a specific product or brand within the past 3 months).
This method can only be selected when the survey includes screening questions and the targeting country is 'Republic of Korea'.
💡 Tip | Particularly useful when you want to accurately reflect the gender/age composition ratio of opinions from a group with specific attributes.
4️⃣ Custom Quota Setup
Custom Quota Setup allows users to freely compose quotas according to criteria they define themselves.
It can be selected regardless of whether screening questions are included or whether it's a Korean or Non-Korean panel survey, allowing more flexible survey management.
💡 Tip | Useful when you want to fine-tune respondent composition to fit your analysis purpose, or when you want to directly manage response counts based on operational needs.
5️⃣ Profile-Based Quota Setup (Stratified Random Sampling)
Profile-Based Quota Setup divides groups by respondents' demographic characteristics (e.g., gender, age, place of residence) and sets target response counts (quotas) for each group to compose the sample.
This setting can only be used when 'Respondent Retargeting' is selected.
💡 Tip | Stratified random sampling can prevent specific group responses from being excessively over- or under-represented, enabling a more balanced sample. It is a sample design method particularly useful in market research or consumer surveys where representativeness is important.
