📌 Setting whether a question is required is available on all plans.
What is a "Required response"?
To ensure smooth collection of survey responses, questions are set as required by default. In the case of required questions, respondents must answer the question to move on to the next one.
How to change whether a response is required
If you want to set a specific question as an optional response, please follow the steps below.
Step 1. Click the question you want to set as an optional response.
Step 2. Deactivate the [Required] setting in the [Question settings] area on the right.
💡 Tip | You can check whether each question is set as required by the star icon displayed on the question card on the left.
🪄 Multiple Rating and Constant Sum questions can only be set as 'Required'.
Grid - Multiple Rating and Constant Sum questions are structured where respondents enter ratings or numerical values for multiple items. If some items are left blank, data interpretation becomes difficult, and the accuracy of analysis results can be significantly reduced. As these question types are often used for quantitative analysis such as item comparison, mean calculation, and ratio calculation, it is important that responses for all items are fully collected.
Due to these characteristics, these question types cannot be set to be answered optionally and can only be set to the 'Required' state, where all respondents must enter a value.
