What is Display Logic?
Display logic is a feature that allows questions to be shown only to respondents who meet specific conditions. If respondents do not meet the conditions, the question will not be displayed.
How to Set Up Display Logic
Display logic can be set up in the Edit tab by navigating to Question settings > Logic > Display logic > [Setup] button. Once the setup screen opens, configure the necessary conditions and click [Confirm] to apply them.
① Setting Display Conditions
This section allows you to set conditions under which the question will be displayed only to respondents who meet those conditions.
(1) Setting Conditions
Select a question: Choose the question you want to use as the basis for the condition.
Response condition: Set the response condition for the selected question. By default, it is set to "Responded", meaning the current question will be shown to respondents who answered the selected question.
📌 Tips to Remember:
Response conditions can also be set based on criteria such as "Responded," "Did not respond," "Includes," "Excludes," "Response count," or "Text length" depending on the question type. You can further refine the conditions using operators like = (equals), < (less than), > (greater than) and specify choices, numbers, or date conditions.
(2) Using ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ Options
When multiple conditions are set, you can define the relationship between them using the AND or OR operators:
AND: The question will be displayed only to respondents who meet both Condition A and Condition B.
OR: The question will be displayed to respondents who meet either Condition A or Condition B.
(3) Adding and Deleting Conditions
Add Condition [+]: Use this option to add a new condition. Added conditions are connected with AND or OR. If you want to use both AND and OR, you need to create separate condition sets.
Delete Condition [-]: Use this option to remove an existing condition. Deleted conditions cannot be restored.
(4) Adding and Deleting Condition Sets
Add a condition set: Add a new set of conditions. However, the operator within a condition set must remain consistent. For instance, if the first set uses AND, subsequent sets must also use AND.
Delete a condition set: Remove an existing condition set. Deleted sets cannot be restored.
② Configuring Behavior for Respondents Who Do Not Meet the Conditions
This section allows you to determine what happens when respondents do not meet the conditions.
Next question: Moves to the question immediately following the current one. This is the default setting.
A question in this block: Moves to a selected question within the current block.
A different block: Moves to a question in another block.
Outro page: Ends the survey and redirects respondents to the outro page.
How to Check If Logic Has Been Set
Once display logic is applied, you can verify it by checking the [Display Logic Applied] button. Clicking the button will take you back to the setup screen.
📌 Tips to Remembe
Always verify that display logic is working as intended by using the survey preview feature.
Display logic is a powerful feature for professional survey design but may feel complex for first-time users. If you encounter difficulties, please use the [Chat Support] button in the lower-right corner of the Edit page for assistance.
