What are Screening Questions?
Screening questions are questions used to select respondents to participate in a survey.
By adding screening questions to a Screening block, you can operate the survey by distinguishing between those who will participate in the survey and those who will not.
Screening Pass: This refers to cases where the set screening pass conditions are met after responding to the last question in the Screening block. Respondents who pass will move to the first block (B1) of the survey.
Screen out: This refers to cases where the survey ends at the screening stage because the screening pass conditions were not met. After completing the response in the Screening block, the respondent moves to the designated termination page and the survey ends.
Over quota: This refers to cases where the screening pass conditions are met, but the target 'number of completed responses' set by the user has already been exceeded. In this case as well, the survey ends after completing the response in the Screening block and moving to the designated termination page.
Why should you use Screening Questions?
1️⃣ Only respondents who fit the purpose of the survey can participate
Surveys about products or services are meaningful only when they are answered by respondents who have actual experience purchasing or using them.
In the case of respondents without experience, they often answer by guessing or provide arbitrary responses because they do not accurately understand the question, which can lead to results that differ from the actual opinions of customers.
By utilizing screening questions, you can set it so that only respondents who have directly experienced the product or service participate in the main survey, allowing you to collect realistic data that can be used for actual improvement or decision-making.
2️⃣ You can increase the reliability of response data
If responses irrelevant to the survey are mixed in, the analysis results may be distorted or it may become difficult to obtain meaningful insights.
Through screening questions, you can not only check for "experience" but also further verify the actual experience with follow-up questions.
For example, by adding questions about the time of recent use or specific usage details only when the respondent answered that they have experience, you can naturally filter out those who have no experience or responded insincerely.
How to set Screening Questions
1️⃣ Add questions to the Screening block
step 1. Click [+ Screening block] at the bottom of the welcome page or press the [+] button in the screening questions area on the left to add a Screening block.
step 2. When a Screening block is created, a default question is automatically generated. After that, you can add up to 9 questions by clicking the [+ Question] button as needed.
step 3. Once a question is added, select the desired question type and enter the question content to be used for screening.
2️⃣ Set the Screening Logic
step 1. Click [Modify] in the Screening logic area.
step 2. Set the survey target conditions in Screening pass conditions. After responding to the last question of the Screening block, the conditions are checked, and respondents who pass will move to the first block (B1).
step 3. Select the termination page for respondents in each of the following cases, then click [Complete settings].
When screening pass conditions are not met (Screen out)
When screening pass conditions are met but the target collection count has been exceeded (Over quota)
💡 Usage tip | You can create up to 3 termination pages. If you want to show different information screens to Screen out and Over quota respondents, create an additional termination page and then specify each in [Change settings] of the Screening logic.
