What Is the Response Tab?

The Response tab is a space where you can review and manage collected individual response data in detail.

Here, you can review each respondent's actual answers one by one, and also perform 'data cleaning' — directly selecting and hiding insincere or erroneous responses. This process helps prevent statistical results from being distorted and establishes a foundation for conducting analysis with more reliable data.

When Do You Need the Response Tab?

✅ When you need to improve the reliability of data

"It seems like some people in the response data answered carelessly without properly reading the questions. How can I exclude these insincere responses and use only clean data for analysis? 🧐"

🧙 Here's how you can use it

  • Check the sincerity score: The Sincerity Score — calculated using Opensurvey's proprietary algorithm — lets you quickly identify insincere respondents.

  • Data cleaning feature: You can exclude erroneous responses, profanity, or illogical responses from analysis (hide them) in just a few clicks.

✅ When you want to see the specific response context of individual respondents

"Overall statistical results are important, but I'm curious about the flow of how a specific respondent answered each question in context. Is it possible to look closely at each person's responses in detail? 🧐"

🧙 Here's how you can use it

  • View Response Details: Select a specific respondent to review the answers they left across the entire survey in detail on one page.

  • Load variables: In addition to basic information, add profile data or metadata to the table to understand a respondent's characteristics from multiple angles.

Key Features and How to Use Them

1️⃣ Response settings and download: Optimizing your work environment

An area for adjusting how data is displayed in the table and extracting data to an external file as needed.

  • Response settings bar: Check the number of valid and hidden responses, and configure settings such as value label display, cell height, and column width to make data easier to view.

  • Data download and sharing: Download the current table as a CSV file — with variables configured exactly as shown — to perform additional analysis or processing in external tools such as Excel. You can also send results to Salesforce via the 'Export' feature, or generate a public link to easily share results with team members.

2️⃣ Response table: Reviewing raw data

An area for viewing and comparing data from all survey respondents at a glance. You can examine each respondent's answers in detail and inspect the data status.

  • Check response status: Immediately confirm whether a response is a valid response or has been cleaned.

  • Load variables: Click the 'Load variables' button to add various variables to the table for a broader view of response data.

  • Sincerity Score: Use the sincerity score — calculated on a scale of 0–100 using Opensurvey's algorithm — to decide whether to include a response in analysis. (It is generally recommended to review the content of responses below 70 points and consider whether to exclude them from analysis.)

  • Check key identifiers: Use the response's unique ID (rd_id) and response completion time to accurately distinguish and manage each piece of response data.

3️⃣ Cleaning and status bar: Refining data with precision

An area for excluding specific responses from analysis and managing collection status against targets.

  • Data cleaning bar: Enter the reference identifier and reason (insincere, profanity, etc.) for the responses to exclude, allowing you to clean data transparently.

  • View response status: Compare the target response count and current valid response count by collection group in table format to manage your survey collection status.
