What is a Block?

A block is a unit that lets you group and manage survey questions by topic or purpose in a structured way.

It is a feature used when editing and managing surveys, and is not visible to respondents.

Why use blocks?

1️⃣ Build surveys in a structured way

As surveys grow longer, managing questions can become difficult. Grouping questions into blocks gives you a clear overview of the survey structure, making it easier to build and manage your survey systematically.

2️⃣ Design logic more efficiently

Blocks are especially useful when questions of the same type repeat or when complex logic design is needed.

You can also design flexible survey flows — for example, routing respondents to a specific block based on their conditions.

How to Add a Block

A survey requires at least one block and one question. When you first enter the editor, one block and one question are automatically created.

Step 1. Use any of the following three methods to add a block:

✅ Click the [+] button to the right of a question and select [Block]

✅ Select [Add Block] from the More options (⋮) menu to the right of 'New Block'

✅ Click the [+ Block] button at the bottom of the last question in an existing block

Step 2. Enter a name for the new block and click [Add].

💡 Tip | To rename, copy, reorder, or delete a block, click the (⦙) icon to the right of the block.

Step 3. Click [Add Question] at the bottom of the new block to add questions, or drag and drop existing questions into the new block.
