Share a Synthetic Persona Interview and Continue Asking Questions with Your Team

Learn how to share a synthetic persona interview with your teammates and continue asking questions. Follow the flow from inviting Space members to an interview to asking the same personas additional questions and using the results.

Plan | Sharing synthetic persona interviews and asking follow-up questions are available on the Free plan and above.

Once you share a quantitative research report, questions from business teams often pour in, such as "Why is satisfaction low among women in their 20s?" or "How should we change our promotional copy based on these results?" These are questions that numbers alone can't answer right away.

In these cases, share a synthetic persona interview. Without picking through crosstabs one by one, teammates can ask the personas directly and get the answers they need for their work right away.

  • Results interpreted for each team: Each team can ask the personas the questions it needs, such as which messages will resonate for the marketing team or what to fix in the product for the product planning team. Follow-up questions keep coming up as plans take shape, but it's hard to launch new research every time. When that happens, ask the personas directly.

  • All teams discuss from a consistent customer perspective: When each team interprets the same report differently, each team pictures a different customer in meetings. When you share a persona interview, all teams can discuss based on the same profiles and responses. Because you don't have to realign on the customer definition every time, you can make decisions faster and stay consistent.

1. Share an interview with your teammates

You can invite Space members from the screen of an interview you conducted and share the session with them.

step 1. Click the [Share] button at the top right of the interview screen.

step 2. In the 'Invite to interview' field, enter the name or email of the Space members you want to share with and add them.

step 3. When members are added, a notification email is sent. You can also click [Copy link] under 'Interview link' right below to send the link to your teammates directly.

To show the interview to external users who aren't Space members, use [Copy link] in the [Share via public link] section at the bottom of the share window.

step 4. In 'Interview activity' on the left side of the interview screen, you can check the number of likes from invited members, the number of members who asked follow-up questions, and the number of follow-up questions.

2. Continue asking questions in a teammate's interview

If a new question comes up while you're reading an interview a teammate shared, you can continue asking questions separately from the original interview.

step 1. Review the shared interview, and if it was helpful, click [Like] at the top right. The member who created the interview can see your reaction.

step 2. If you have a hypothesis or question you want to check further, click the [Ask my own question] button at the bottom of the screen.

step 3. Type your question in the input field at the bottom and send it.

step 4. When you send your first question, a continued interview is created that carries over the persona setup and answer context of the original interview.

Tip | Other members, including the member who created the original interview, can't see the questions and answers in your continued interview. The member who created the original interview sees only the total number of follow-up questions and the number of members who asked them.

FAQ

Q. Can I create another continued interview from a continued interview?

No. You can keep asking questions in a continued interview, but you can't create another continued interview from it or share it with other members.

Q. Can I change the persona setup (number of personas, segment conditions, etc.) while continuing to ask questions?

No, you can't. To ask questions with different persona conditions (age, gender, segment, etc.) or a different number of personas, create a new synthetic persona interview.

Q. Whose credits are deducted when I ask follow-up questions?

Credits are deducted from the user who writes and sends the follow-up questions. (The credits of the teammate who created the original interview are not used.)

Q. How many questions can I ask in a continued interview?

You can ask up to 100 questions in each continued interview. You can check the number of remaining questions above the input field.
